Hi I’m Lydia!
I believe in dreaming big, and creating the career and life you really want to be living.
I love relaxing at home with a gin and homemade pizza cooked in our garden pizza oven, as well as enjoying family adventures around the Sheffield area with my husband and our two children. Interesting fact about me - I was part of a cheerleading squad that won the UK Championships in 2010, and have built my career on my natural ability to encourage and motivate others.
Creating a life and career that works for me
At six years old I knew I wanted to be a ballerina. But my plans quickly changed, and continued to... I took 2 years out of education, then graduated with a University degree in Speech Therapy that I never used (face palm!). Roll on a few years and here I am – having figured out what I’m good at, and what I love doing.
I really love helping people realise that they are unique and valuable, understanding what they’re naturally good at, defining their goals, figuring out what they want from their career, and helping them take focused steps to make it happen. I love helping people create a life and career that works for them.
As a career coach, I help career changers understand who they are and what they want; love what they do and live their one life. I believe your work should be something to enjoy, not endure.
Why I love career coaching
When you make the decision that something has to change, it can be scary. To make a change, you need self-belief and confidence.
I have had so many conversations with clients who tell me that they feel paralysed by the thought of stepping out of their comfort zone. The fear of making the wrong decision, or of disappointing the people they love keeps so many people stuck in jobs that they’re unhappy in.
Going on this journey with someone else can feel comforting and empowering.
Then there’s the issue of time. Often the people I speak to spend so much time putting out fires and spinning all the plates, that they feel they don’t have time to figure out what kind of life and work would work for them. So they stay stuck.
Trying to figure it out yourself can take a very long time. Asking for help from someone who knows what they’re doing, is much quicker.
